Il Po di Poli Aromatica is a distillate of Traminer grapes, which are known for their intense aromas and floral notes, providing the grappa with a complex and seductive bouquet of roses, lychee, and sweet spices. The taste is rich and enveloping, a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. This makes it ideal for enjoying on its own, perhaps after a meal, or as a refined base for cocktails.
Poli Grappa has been produced and bottled in Schiavon, Bassano del Grappa since 1898. Made by distilling the skins, pulp, seeds, and stems (the pomace) left over from winemaking after pressing the grapes, it was originally invented to prevent waste by using these leftovers. The Poli Distillery cintiunes to gather produce from an area ranging from Bassano del Grappa to the hills surrounding Marostica and Breganze, land historically famous for the cultivation of grape vines and the production of Grappa.
Grappa is primarily served as a digestivo or after-dinner drink. It also can be added to espresso coffee to create a caffè corretto (corrected coffee) or used in the Veneto to swill round the finished coffee cup before drinking!
